"Serving hands on Healing"
Dr. Brandy Zachary, DC, AFMCP
Dr. Zachary is the Founder of Body Love Cafe and lead doc for Functional Medicine & Nutrition. She has trained extensively with the Institute of Functional Medicine and specializes in getting to the root cause of an issue for her patients.
She serves patients of all ages and often has patients that travel to Body Love Cafe for her expertise in Gut Health (SIBO, Candida, IBS, IBD), Thyroid, Adrenal & Heart Health. Dr. Zachary loves to combine the best of Western & Eastern techniques ranging from advanced blood labs or hormone testing to a thorough nutrition exam to the use of applied kinesiology and energy testing. She wants to look at her patient's health from all angles, find patterns and uncover the source of the problem based on the physiological function of the body.
She often co-manages with other physicians as needed for the benefit of the patient and receives referrals from MDs & DOs. Although always striving for a holistic solution, Dr. Zachary's philosophy is that "whatever works for the patient and does no harm" is the best answer. Sometimes that means a complex case might have a team of practitioners serving the patient on their road to health.
Ultimately, Dr. Zachary is a "health detective", spending 2.5 hours with the patient in their first two visits and many hours piecing together their history, exam and lab findings. She is dedicated to sharing cutting-edge research and nutrition with her patients and has taught free classes to the public for years.
Dr. Zachary teaches other physicians and healthcare practitioners how to practice, analyze labs, and run a natural medicine clinic. She's the lead instructor at the Functional Medicine Academy, which provides a certification program for those interested in the holistic health field. "we repeat what we don't repair"
Katie Coelho, BA, ACN
Katie provides emotional & energy healing at Body Love Cafe in addition to serving as the Patient Advocate for the entire clinic. She has a deep understanding of holistic health, acts as a grounding force in the office, and is easily a patient favorite!
Katie graduated from the University of California-Davis in 2007 with her BA double major in English & International Relations. Her greatest college education came from working at The House Peer Counseling Center as a Peer Counselor and Program Coordinator.
In 2013, Katie drastically changed her mindset, diet, and lifestyle to heal herself after a debilitating pesticide exposure. It was a catalyst moment that started her lifetime love affair with health on all levels: physical, emotional, mental, spiritual.
In 2017, Katie agreed to "temporarily" help out a friend (Dr. Brandy Zachary) behind the scenes at Body Love Cafe while it transitioned to it's Walnut Creek location. There, she found her people: those living in light & truth while committed to their healing journey.
Her passion for multi-dimensional healing inspired her to facilitate Emotional Wellness sessions; working with patients to release ancestral trauma & limiting beliefs, up-leveling their vibration & consciousness. She enjoys chefing 100% organic paleo dishes, deepening her faith, vegetable gardening, expanding her knowledge of plant-based medicine, yoga and the great outdoors.
Dr. Zachary says, "Katie is a compassionate listener and a natural healer, everyone feels better when she's around. Patients rave about their 'Mental Makeover' sessions with Katie!"
"we carry our 'issues' in our tissues"
David Zachary, CMT, ACN
David has the ability to fix anything whether it be a patient's body & mindset or repairing a house or building an electric bike. He serves as a bodyworker and Health Coach at Body Love Cafe utilizing a wide variety of techniques ranging from classical structural mobility to reposturing to therapeutic massage to energy medicine.
He furthered his studies as a health and nutrition coach specializing in ketogenic, paleo & elimination diets for those dealing with food sensitivities or mood issues. David studied physics at Minnesota State University - Moorhead and earned his advance massage certification at Northwestern Health Sciences University in 2002. He also became certified in T'ai Chi Chih in 1999 and served as an instructor.
David's own childhood experience with ADHD drove him to expand his studies as an adult and research natural remedies and lifestyle strategies for dealing with ADHD, which may be used alongside medication if needed. He is incredibly resilient with an upbeat energy, a "never say die" attitude and more than a few corny Dad jokes. Many of his patients have described him as "the most compassionate guy" and the "best bodyworker."

"translate nutrition into everyday habits"
Kylene serves as the Patient Liaison for Body Love Cafe and has been studying nutrition and training as a Health Coach in college, with Dr. Zachary and now through the Functional Medicine Academy.
Kylene studied Biology at one of the top universities in the Philippines where she was also a student athlete in cheerleading. When she stopped competing she struggled with some weight gain which caused her to examine the impact of food and fitness in her life. When she realized how much happiness came from eating right and staying active, she switched her major to nutrition.
She says one of her greatest accomplishments was having the discipline to eat healthy even when she lived with her Filipino grandma, and hiding vegetables in food to sneak some quality nutrition past her 'picky eater' friends.
Although she has a tiny frame (4'11", 100 lbs), her personal best deadlift squat at the gym is 131 pounds.
Dr. Zachary describes her as "a powerful force in a petite package" and often teases that the kids that come to the office love Kylene so much because she's their size. Dr. Zachary added, "I love having Kylene at Body Love Cafe. She's bright, sharp, fast, clever, kind and funny. We are lucky to have her on our team!"
Kylene loves dancing, gymnastics, cooking, baking, walking her dog, listening to the band 'The 1975', watching Doctor Who, traveling and experimenting with healthy foods and recipes. She also highly values taking care of the planet and strives to live sustainably and make environmentally-friendly choices whenever possible.

He is a patient favorite at Body Love Cafe known for his gentle acupuncture technique, his understanding nature and amazing bedside manner!
Dr. Zachary says, "I searched for a long time to find a great Acupuncturist and Dr. Intal came highly recommended from a colleague. The first time I met him was when I 'crashed the clinic' he was working at so I could receive care personally for a back injury. Besides his obvious skill and intuitive nature, Dr. Intal possessed a palpable 'healing energy' that filled the entire room. I left that day feeling incredibly relaxed and determined to have him share his talent with the patients at Body Love Cafe. Although he's in high demand and we only have him one day a week, we are grateful for any time we get this great healer!"
"Progress, not perfection. movement is life."
Dr. Romy Havard, MS, DPT, OCS
Dr. Havard attended UC Berkeley for undergrad and later earned a Masters of Science and Doctoral degrees from the UCSF/SFSU Joint Graduate Program in Physical Therapy. She is Board Certified in the Orthopedic Section (OCS).

"as the wind blows, so the tree grows. Get adjusted!"
Dr. KaTe Wong, DC
Dr. Wong's journey as a Wellness Doctor began over 2 decades ago when she was so sickly growing up, but none of her doctors could figure out why. She suffered from stomach pains and allergies, yet was repeatedly told she was "fine". She knew deep down that something was wrong and that she needed to get to the root cause to kick-start her healing.
Dr. Wong earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from University of San Francisco. She was planning to work in that field until she had a job experience with the elderly in the Bay Area and saw how many patients were on medications just so they'd be "easier to handle".
She quickly changed her trajectory from being a psychiatrist to a pediatric/fertility wellness practitioner, earning her DC from Southern California University of Health Sciences. She is a Board-Certified Chiropractor, a member of ICPA (International Chiropractic Pediatric Association) and certified in Webster Technique to help mothers have a comfortable pregnancy and delivery.
As an expert in holistic fertility, Dr. Wong is also certified as a "Mercier Therapy Practitioner & Fertility Specialist" and utilizes the Schaefer Protocol for preconception health with her patients. "I believe that healthy babies come from healthy parents, and that starts as early as when the couple first gets married or are just thinking about adding a 'bundle of joy' to their family, " says Dr. Wong.
She went on to add, "From my professional experience, I discovered that this holistic approach empowers parents, creating a healthy foundation and the best chance for success."
Dr. Wong provides care for all ages in addition to her fertility work and really enjoys working with babies and children. "My mission is to remove the obstacles that hinder the little ones through their development stages, assist the proper growth for them to become healthy adults, and facilitate the health in each woman so they can blossom as they are destined to be through each moment of motherhood."
